A $40 audit copay (free for HES-IE income-eligible households) starts the process. On average, families receive about $1,000 in services and realize $70–$100 in savings on their annual energy bills — and that doesn't include the subsequent rebates and upgrades. Actual amounts vary by your circumstances and current program rules.

Energize CT rebates may be combined with federal Inflation Reduction Act incentives on eligible upgrades. Contact HCP and we will tell you which incentives can be stacked for your specific project.

Customers of all incomes are welcome. If your family's combined gross annual income is below 60% of the state median, you may qualify for HES Income-Eligible, which provides the audit and weatherization services at no cost.

Renters may still be eligible, but you will need your landlord's approval for any modifications to the property. The program is open to both property owners and renters.

A utility-certified technician evaluates your home's energy performance and installs immediate energy-saving measures such as sealing air leaks, faucet aerators, and low-flow showerheads. You receive written recommendations for deeper upgrades — insulation, high-efficiency heating and cooling, water heating, windows, and appliances — each with rebate, financing, and payback information specific to your home.
